Swedish Society for the Study of Russia, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia: President
2006-2007
(Board Member from 2003)
President of the Society involving overall management of its affairs. The Society is the Swedish branch of the International Council for Central and East European Studies (ICCEES), which VIII Congress in 2010 the Society will host. The Society's aim is to further knowledge about Russia, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, gathering professionals concerned with these issues e.g. within science, diplomacy, administration, politics and media.

East European Forum: President
2001-2002
Management of Association activities, consisting of lectures, seminars and international exchange with focus on Eastern Europe. The Forum also publishes the quarterly magazine Inblick Östeuropa. The Forum is independent, but receives support from the Department of East European Studies, University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Laboremus - Uppsala Social-Democratic Student Association: President
1995-1996
Overall responsibility for Association affairs. Activities consisted of the Social-Democratic Student party, one of Sweden's best lecture series, as well as debates and seminare. Editor of the book Fragment av en framtid [Fragments of a future]. Laboremus was founded in 1902 as an association for "labourers and academics" and is one of the oldest parts of Swedish Social-Democracy. It has been a recruiting-ground for many prominent Swedish politicians and Members of Cabinet.

Social-Democratic Students of Sweden: Member of the National Board
1995-1996
Responsible for organisational strategies and co-operation between sub-units, as well as the international democratic aid projects in Russia, Belarus, Romania, and Burma.

Natio Uplandica Foundation: President
1991-1992
Responsible for directing the affairs of a student housing foundation in co-operation with the CEO. Preparation of board meetings etc. During the presidency, extensive renovations were made on the facilities.

Jakobsberg Scout Corps: Vice-President
1989-1990
Assistance to the president in management of the corps. Responsible for a scout section. Planning and implementation of weekly acitivities, hikes and camps for all from twenty till several hundred people.
